About 10 Yonge Street — Residences of the World Trade Centre
The Residences of the World Trade Centre is home to a number of prestigious condos in Toronto’s Waterfront neighbourhood. Completed in 1991 by Camrost-Felcorp, these condos have long drawn many prospective buyers with their convenient locale and alluring aesthetic — inside and out.
The internationally-acclaimed Zeidler Partnership Architects designed the 38-storey structure at 10 Yonge. The tower’s refined postmodern design uses reinforced concrete, marble, and granite to support an array of blue-tinted windows, and is richly textured by many sets of private balconies.
At ground level, the podium features convenient retail spaces nestled behind elegant columns. The lobby’s understated design provides more than just a comfortable place to relax: it’s also home to a 24-hour concierge and a valet service.
Finally, 10 Yonge’s podium connects the Residences of the World Trade Centre with its sister condos, which can be found at 10 Queens Quay West: Residences Of The World Trade Centre II. Together with these neighbours, the residents of 10 Yonge St share access to over 30,000 square feet of amenities. Spread out over 3 storeys, this common space boasts a long list of enviable features.
Residents living at 10 Yonge can make use of an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, as well as a whirl pool, rooftop barbecues, squash courts, and state-of-the-art fitness and health facilities with steam rooms and a dance studio. In addition to second floor meeting rooms, party room, and theatres on the 38th floor of 10 Yonge, there’s also a penthouse entertainment space that opens out onto a wraparound terrace with captivating views in all directions.
The Suites
The Residences of the World Trade Centre is a popular place to call home, as it contains 409 Toronto condos. Ranging in size from around 550 to 2,800 square feet, these suites consist of studios, one-, and two-bedroom layouts, as well as some grand penthouse suites.
Although not all Toronto condos for sale at 10 Yonge extend outside onto a private balcony, many at least have a solarium. And thanks to its locale close to the water, the homes within the Residences of the World Trade Centre boast excellent exposure, allowing natural light to fill these cleanly-designed living spaces.
The Neighbourhood
Residents living at 10 Yonge can enjoy the best of both worlds: they’re a short walk from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, making a serene day on the Toronto Islands and away from city a breeze. By heading in the other direction, those living in the Residences of the World Trade Centre can walk over to the nearby Scotiabank Arena. Here, one can cheer on the Raptors or Maple Leafs, or listen to some live music at a concert, depending on the day.
And when the building residents want to spend a night in, there are many convenient options in the tower’s podium itself. They can pick up some take-out from a restaurant just downstairs, or drop by the Kitchen Table located below their sister tower at 10 Queens Quay East in order to stock up on groceries.
Transportation
The ferry terminal isn’t the only convenient public transit option available to those living in 10 Yonge Street. In fact, residents live close to the city’s busiest hub for public transportation: Union Station. Accessible via Bay Street, just north of the ACC, 10 Yonge’s residents can take their pick: TTC subways and streetcars will bring travelers to destinations throughout the city, while GO Transit carries passengers to surrounding towns and suburbs on buses or trains; VIA Rail is best for long, scenic trips out of the city, and the UP Express can be used to reach Pearson International Airport in just 25 minutes.
Alternatively, the Residences of the World Trade Centre is well-positioned for those who prefer to drive. Residents can use Lakeshore Boulevard East to connect to whichever road happens to be moving most smoothly that day. And when destinations are farther away, drivers can reach the Gardiner Expressway in just a few minutes by heading up Yonge Street.
