About 1005 King Street WDNA North Tower Condos

Like DNA is to the human body, the DNA Condo complex is essential to the King West neighbourhood. Comprised of three phases, the DNA North Tower Condos is also known as DNA 2. Located at 1005 King Street West, it's just around the corner from its sister buildings: DNA Condos at 1 Shaw Street and DNA 3 Condos at 1030 King Street West.

Built in 2006 by Canderel Stoneridge, the classic, red brick and glass exterior, together with its mid-rises status, exude a relaxed attitude. The nonchalant façade is a much-needed break from some of the more outrageous buildings that have been cropping up in the area as of late, while stylish homes within still manage to attract some of Toronto’s trendiest buyers.

Sitting at a pretty 11 storeys tall, and containing enough homes for 229 owners, the DNA North Tower Condos are like a little community in and of themselves. Residents aren’t even required to go outside to use the gym or attend a meeting, thanks to the amenities offered at 1005 King West. Other perks include a shared rooftop terrace, a party room, visitor parking, and a concierge.

    The Suites

In catering to Torontonians of all sorts, Canderel Stoneridge opted to offer a range of Toronto condos for sale when designing the interiors of DNA 2. Bachelor units are available for those living alone or with a partner, while those with two bedrooms plus a den are spacious enough for a small family to call home. Sizes range as well, from cozy yet comfortable 400 square foot homes to more stately ones that span just over 1,600.

The homes at 1005 King West are anything but ordinary: high ceilings that reach to 9 feet tall are exaggerated by being covered with floor-to-ceiling windows. Hardwood and exposed concrete are used in tandem, in order to create a polished, yet raw effect. Spaces are brightly lit thanks to the heavy use of glass at DNA 2, highlighting elegant elements such as granite countertops and gas stoves found within the modern kitchens.

Evident even from the street, many of the homes at 1005 King West are equipped with balconies, ready to be enjoyed once the weather warms up each year.

    The Neighbourhood

Even those without private outdoor spaces of their own can enjoy spending some quality time with nature during the spring and summer. This is because, although they may be located in the centre of an urban metropolis, the building is surrounded by parks. Just next door, for example, is Massey Harris Park, ideal for a quick stroll or sitting down for an hour or two with a good book. Also within walking distance is Trinity Bellwoods Park, a Toronto favourite when it comes to picnicking or playing sports.

In terms of entertainment and culture, the options are endless for those living at 1005 King West. The lakeshore, with its sandy beaches and waterfront parks, is only a short trip away, as is the Entertainment District where concerts and sporting matches can be attended at either the Rogers Centre or the Scotiabank Arena.

When date night rolls around, residents can head over to Liberty Village for dinner or drinks at some of Toronto’s trendiest establishments. A quick walk up to Queen Street West will also broaden the choices: music fans can check out a show at the Drake or the Gladstone Hotels, while anyone who appreciates a good cocktail or craft beer will find themselves in heaven.

    Transportation

With its address directly on King Street West, it should come as no surprise that residents of the DNA North Tower Condos are well situated for travelling around Toronto. Those relying on the TTC needn’t brave the winter weather for too long, thanks to the streetcar stop just steps away at the corner of King and Shaw. From here, passengers can ride along King toward St. Andrew or King stations. The Ossington bus, which moves from Liberty Village to Eglinton West station and back again, also makes a stop at this intersection, for those heading north or south.

Drivers will likely make use of King Street to travel into the heart of the Financial District, should one’s daily commute require it. Alternatively, the Gardiner Expressway can be accessed in no time via Jameson Avenue, a highway that provides connections to the 427 to the west or the Don Valley Parkway to the east.

Even those who enjoy moving around on two wheels are in luck, with bike lanes along Adelaide, Richmond, and Shaw Streets making for safe routes around the city.
