The Neighbourhood
There’s an almost cottage-like atmosphere around 15 Glen Manor. The ample greenery and nearby sandy shores are tranquil enough to make residents forget they’re still in Canada’s busiest city. But it’s not just all that foliage and water that makes the neighborhood a great place to live. Just up north, on streets like Kingston Road and Queen East, fabulous shops, restaurants, and bars can be found. And just a bit farther north is the Danforth Village, known for its unique eateries, stores and markets.
Looking for some nearby entertainment? Just around the corner from 15 Glen Manor are a number of great venues for killing time or getting some rest and relaxation. The Fox Theatre, known for showing both classic and contemporary films, is not too far away, and The Beaches Public Library is close by as well. Aside from the beach directly south of Glen Manor, plenty of parks and beaches can be found around the neighborhood, such as Ivan Forrest Gardens (which connects to the Glen Stewart Ravine and Park), Balmy Beach Park, Beaches Park, and Kew Gardens. And nearby schools include Glen Ames Senior Public School, St Denis Catholic School, Williamson Road Junior Public School, and Notre Dame High School.
Transportation
Navigating The Beaches shouldn’t be too much trouble for residents of 15 Glen Manor. After walking a few blocks north, residents can access the Queen Street East Streetcar. Alternatively, they can take a bus north along Main Street to reach the Main Street Subway Station in about 15 minutes.
The streets around The Beaches are flat and quiet, making them great for avid cyclists who don’t have too far to travel. And drivers can reach Lake Shore Boulevard and the Don Valley Parkway via Queen Street East in no time.
