About 320-340 Dixon Road — 320 Dixon Condos
The 320 Dixon Condos is hard to miss: the enormous white structure at 320 Dixon and 340 Dixon Road rises to 26 storeys, and is even wider than it is tall. As a result of the building’s large size, Tridel was able to include nearly 900 Etobicoke condos at 320 and 340 Dixon Rd.
Built in 1971, the 320 Dixon Condos contains just the essentials in terms of amenities. Residents have access to a concierge, a party room, and a gym, plus there’s visitor parking on site. And with this minimalist list of amenities comes low maintenance fees for residents.
The Suites
Like many older buildings throughout the city, 320 Dixon and 340 Dixon boasts generous suite sizes. The smallest Toronto condos for sale in the building span an impressive 800 square feet, with the largest reaching to 1,350 square feet. And with one, two, or three bedroom homes to choose from, condo seekers looking for a home for one or a place to raise a family are all accounted for.
Seeing as the building has been around for so long, previous residents have had plenty of time to update their homes over the years. So while some units sport a ‘vintage’ look, others feature brand new engineered hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances, and the likes.
The Neighbourhood
Etobicoke’s Kingsview Village | The Westway sits just south of the 401 and west of the Humber River. The neighbourhood is diverse in terms of landscape and housing style, as well as demographics. As far as residents go, Kingsview Village is home to large Somalian, Italian, Asian, and South Asian populations.
While the areas directly north and south of Dixon Road are primarily residential, commercial pockets of Kingsview Village can be found at major intersections like Kipling and Dixon, as well as Dixon and Islington. The latter is home to a No Frills, meaning residents of 320 and 340 Dixon Rd don’t have to travel far in order to restock their pantries.
As for attractions in the area, outdoorsy types always have the option to explore the many parks set up along the banks of the Humber River. Those with nothing but time can even use the Humber Recreational Trail to walk all the way down to Lake Ontario. On rainy days, residents can head to the nearby Woodbine Mall. Aside from the usual fashion and specialty stores, this mall also contains something special that never fails to amuse kids: the indoor amusement park known as Fantasy Fair.
Transportation
Whether residents of 320 and 340 Dixon are car owners or not, it’s easy to get around the immediate area — and the entire city for that matter. Those without cars of their own will rely on a number of different buses that run through the neighbourhood. For example, the 52 Lawrence bus carries passengers to Weston Station, where they can transfer onto GO Trains or the UP Express, before continuing on toward Lawrence West and Lawrence subway stations. Alternatively, residents heading south can use either the Kipling or Islington buses to reach Kipling and Islington Stations, respectively.
Drivers living in the building start many of their journeys by heading north to the 401. Once here, destinations within Etobicoke, Mississauga, North York, and Scarborough are easy to reach. And last but not least, those heading into the downtown core by car can simply hop onto the 427 in order to ride south toward the Gardiner Expressway.
