About 398 Eglinton Avenue E — Maxim
A fixture of the diverse Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, the stylish condos at 398 Eglinton Avenue East have long attracted many prospective homeowners. Developed by Dynasty Executive Suites Limited, the landmark Maxim Condos seem to even testify to this midtown Toronto community’s vibrancy.
The building at 398 Eglinton East does so even when standing at just at 10 storeys tall. The modern architecture of this modestly size building features blue glass balconies and windows that seem to shine even on the cloudiest days. Although the columns at the Maxim Condos’ entrance may make less of an impression as they did when the building was completed in 1998, this is only because the trees in front have grown quite grand themselves.
Inside, 398 Eglinton East offers a remarkable collection of amenities for residents to enjoy. This includes fitness facilities that are fully-equipped and connected to change rooms and saunas, a party room with its own kitchen, and even a welcoming garden containing a gazebo and common barbecues. Finally, the elegantly appointed lobby is equipped with a 24-hour concierge, whose service matches the warmth set forth by the lush landscaping along Eglinton East.
The Suites
Not too big nor too small, the popular Maxim Condos contains 88 suites. Similarly, the one bedroom, one plus den, and two bedroom suites are well sized, ranging from approximately 550 to almost 1,900 square feet. The variation in floor plans makes Toronto condos for sale in this building appealing to a wide demographic. Most living spaces even extend out onto spacious balconies, offering residents great views of the neighbourhood and the city’s skyscrapers on the horizon.
While 398 Eglinton East was completed and occupied long ago, the suites remain luxurious thanks to thorough updates over the years by their proud residents. Although, they weren’t too shabby from the start: marble foyers welcome residents into homes boasting high-ceilings, and bright atmospheres come courtesy of the abundance of natural light flowing in through floor-to-ceiling windows.
The Neighbourhood
The major intersection of Yonge Street and Eglinton East is about a fifteen-minute walk from the Maxim Condos. In and around the Yonge-Eglinton Centre, many enjoy shopping in its large selection of major stores. When running errands, however, those who call this building home don’t even need to travel that far.
For one, there’s a Loblaws on Eglinton at Lillian Street, as well as an LCBO. Or, for those with fancier palettes, Marcheleo’s Gourmet Marketplace is one street closer, on Eglinton at Brownlow Avenue. And for when essentials run low, there’s a Shoppers around the corner, just a few steps south of Eglinton West on Mount Pleasant Road.
Along Mount Pleasant Road, there are also many eclectic boutiques and cafés. Those living at 398 Eglinton West enjoy the best of both worlds: all the major brands and products from the Yonge-Eglinton Centre, plus the charming local goods from neighbours along Mount Pleasant are both close at hand.
Transportation
Getting around the city - or exiting it altogether — is no problem for those living in the Maxim Condos. For those who usually drive, the traffic moves well in the area, which means getting to the closest highway can often take around ten minutes. Drivers need only head east on Eglinton to get the Don Valley Parkway, with a connection to the 401 a short way north up the DVP.
But even if residents don’t drive, they can venture throughout the city easily since there are many TTC options in the area. Trips often begin with hopping onto one of the many buses that make stops at Petman Avenue, which runs along Eglinton and brings riders to Eglinton Station in about five minutes.
Also a short walk from the building, Eglinton Station is situated at a great spot on the Yonge-University Spadina subway line. With a connection to the Bloor-Danforth line a few stations south, and another connection to the Sheppard line a couple stops north, 398 Eglinton East’s residents can reach destinations around the city in no time.
