About 70 Carlton Street — Stanley Condos
A stunning and contemporary high-rise tower in Toronto’s inclusive Village neighbourhood, Stanley Condos is a residence that demands to be seen. Located at 403 Church Street, the 37 storey tower dazzles, rising from a glass podium with rounded architecture and curved balconies, giving a textured appearance. The property was developed by Tribute Communities and occupancy began in 2020.
The concept behind Stanley Condos is one that many young professionals will appreciate: The vision was to create a building where residents could get in a hard workout and then meet their friends for cocktails, without ever leaving the building. It’s clear that the amenity centre goes above and beyond in this regard, featuring many of the amenities that residents would need to find out in the neighbourhood with another condo building.
Residents enjoy a state of the art fitness centre with full cardio and weight rooms, an outdoor lounge, rooftop deck and zen garden, a party lounge, club lounge, BBQ area, private dining room, concierge service, underground parking, and more. Price per square foot and condo fees are on the higher end, but that’s to be expected for such high end offerings.
The Suites
403 Church Street doesn’t skimp on layouts. There are almost 30 different floor plans in this condo, available in studios, 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom + den, 2 bedroom, 2 bedroom + den, and 3 bedroom condos. The unique shape of the building produces some interesting layouts, and many with rounded exterior walls. downtown toronto condos in this building range from cozy 369 square foot studios to 1070 square feet for 3 bedroom units.
Rounded, floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows offer breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline, and sunlight floods the living space. Suites feature dark hardwood floors in principal rooms and porcelain tile in bathrooms. Kitchens are generously sized and feature stone countertops with ample prep space, full-sized stainless steel appliances, and stylish backsplashes.
Bathrooms are larger than what’s found in most Toronto condos and come with deep soaker tubs. Bedrooms are sizable as well, and though most don’t include a walk-in closet, there's still plenty of storage.
The Neighbourhood
Toronto’s Village neighbourhood is much more than just the site of Toronto’s Pride Parade. This vibrant and incredibly welcoming community is charged with positive energy and packed with amazing restaurants and incredible nightlife and cultural attractions. The Village began as a safe space for the LGTBQ+ community but today it’s home to people of all backgrounds and comprises an incredibly diverse demographic.
If it’s a night on the town that you’re yearning for — you have options in the Village. Mick E Fynn's is just around the corner for an authentic Irish pub experience, as is Hair Of The Dog Neighbourhood Pub & Restaurant for drinks and food. The Lodge and Crews & Tangos on Church cater to LGTBQ+ crowds, though all are welcome.
Fans of the performing arts will have a difficult time finding a better location for taking in a show; there’s the acclaimed Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, the famous Ed Mirvish Theatre, Betty Oliphant Theatre and more. Concert goers have incredible and intimate venues close to home like Phoenix Concert Theatre which is a great spot to check out up and coming bands before they make it big.
Residents of Stanley Condos need not ignore their sweet tooth or their caffeine needs. Nutella Café is just across the street, and Black Bear Espresso and Cuppa Tea Carlton are only a few blocks west. With a coffee hand, you can explore the Allan Gardens for some afternoon sun and let your dog roam at the off-leash dog park.
Transportation
Living in the Village comes with some excellent perks — namely, the ability to accomplish all errands on foot. And because Loblaws is situated just across the street, it’s easier to get groceries without a vehicle or public transit.
TTC users can catch a streetcar on Carlton as soon as they step out of their front door — in theory — or wait at the bus stop, also located just outside of the building. For trips to Union station, it’s only a 4 minute walk to College Station for subway lines.
Car owners might prefer to leave their cars parked in the underground garage and take transit to work, because this isn’t the most driver-friendly location. Drivers can reach the nearest on-ramp for the Don Valley parkway via Danforth avenue, but should anticipate traffic during rush hour.
