About 8 Eglinton Avenue E — E Condos
A beautiful new development rises in the Yonge and Eglinton neighbourhood: the E Condos at 8 Eglinton Avenue East promise modern residential design at an exciting part of the city. Bazis International, Metropia and RioCan REIT joined together for this ambitious Central Toronto development.
Completed in 2018, the modern architecture by the Roy Varacalli proves bold and efficient. The development is composed of 58 and 38-storey towers, showcasing an array of artfully arranged balconies and reflective windows high in the sky. In the middle of both towers, a red striped cantilevered floor gambles — successfully — to be an eye-catching architectural accent.
At ground level, the glass walls of what designers call a “public piazza” give a peek at some rather impressive columns. Inside, those columns soar high in the massive lobby decorated with flair by Mike Niven Interior Design.
All these architectural and design choices impress the most discerning eye, yet the E Condos make no compromises in regards to comfort. Around the development, wide promenades and smart landscape work by the NAK Design Group make the E Condos warm and welcoming.
The amenities available for residents of 8 Eglinton bolster this bold building even further. Party lounges, dining rooms with full kitchens, a state-of-the-art media centre, and an extraordinary gym are all great, but perhaps the coolest feature sits on the red cantilevered floor. There, residents will find the “efinity” pool and lounge that offer panoramic views of the city.
The Suites
To complement the building’s bold architecture, suites are characterized by comfort and ease. The fixtures are fantastic at 8 Eglinton Avenue East. Quartz countertops are standard, as well as European kitchens. For those seeking ultimate relaxation, ensuite bathrooms boast deep soaker bathtubs.
There are 632 suites in the E Condos, and such a variety thoughtfully caters to many different types of residents, making these Yonge and Eglinton condos for sale appealing to all buyers. Starting at one bedroom, and then going up to two bedrooms plus den, all include balconies or terrace space. The suites’ size, more specifically, ranges from 466 to 1 260 square feet. Regardless of size all the suites feel open, as the windows meet engineered floors and smooth ceilings, letting lavish light flow through these suites.
The Neighbourhood
Though residents may want to duck into the Yonge Eglinton Centre often, the streets around 8 Eglinton Avenue East should definitely be explored. Yonge and Eglinton's reputation is growing for good reason: Cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and shops lining the streets serve the neighbourhood with quality products and consistency.
After picking up some fantastic pastries, a hearty sandwich or a fresh cup of coffee, residents can stroll down the street to the Eglinton Park. Originally intended to be “North Toronto Athletic Field” when the city purchased it in 1926, residents can still partake in sports on grassy fields, the baseball diamonds, and the tennis courts that convert into skating rinks during the winter.
Perhaps the Eglinton Park’s most charming feature, the Heritage Community Garden is cared for meticulously. There, the neighbourhood’s new residents of 8 Eglinton Avenue East will recognize the vibrancy and pride that has been cultivated in the community over many years.
Transportation
The E Condos’ residents have excellent transportation options. If travelling on the TTC around midtown Toronto, Eglinton station at the foot of their building acts as a central hub for many surrounding buses. For travelling further around the city, the subway's the Yonge-University-Spadina line runs through Eglinton station and goes north towards uptown and south downtown.
Drivers find themselves at the intersection of major city arteries at 8 Eglinton. Yonge stretches north and south through the city, but for those going downtown, taking Eglinton to the Oriole Parkway proves to be the best option. Eglinton extends east and west across the whole city and even becomes Highway 109 in the East-End. Fortunately, E Condos’ residents have much closer highway access nearby since the Don Valley Parkway is only a short drive away.
